EPM Seminar Modules (1-Day)

Overview:

This 1-Day Effective Project Management seminar focuses on the characteristics, skills, and key “tools” needed to be an effective manager of projects; highlighting the key topics covered in the 2-Day Effective Project Management Course with specific focus on the development and monitoring of a good plan.

Module 1: Project Management Concepts and Basics describes project management basics including the general process; balancing time, cost, and scope; the project planning process; and common project management vocabulary.

Module 2: Project Objective: Purpose, Scope and Strategy describes tools and techniques for clarifying project objectives - “How will we measure success of this project?”

Module 3: WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) describes the fundamental project planning tool, WBS, which breaks the project down into manageable pieces and accounts for everything within the project - styles, deliverables and tasks, and good techniques.

Module 4: Scheduling describes the basic methods used from the development of a WBS to having a project schedule and associated project plan elements.

Module 5: Monitoring & Control and Project Communications describes communication styles and options; statusing and feedback reporting; and simple effective project review formats and techniques.

Module 6: Risk Management and Change Control describes a simple effective approach to managing risks and project scope changes (Optional).

Summary and Actions

We review the results of the seminar, what was most important for each participant and give participants time to clarify action items for themselves - moving forward.
